MASADA HOMES
POSITION:       Multidisciplinary Assessment Team (MAT) Assessor

A MAT Assessor is responsible for timely, comprehensive and strength-based assessments of children placed in out-of-home care and their families.  A MAT Assessor is responsible for timely, comprehensive and strength-based clinical assessments of children placed in out-of-home care.  A MAT Assessor works collaboratively with the MAT Team (includes Dept. of Children and Family Services Staff, DMH, foster parents, biological parents, Medical professionals, Teachers, Regional Center, etc.) to determine what services are most needed by the child(ren) and family.  Part-time assessors can work up to 30 hours per week.

A MAT Assessor works designated shifts under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor.

DUTIES:

1) Strength Based Approach
     a)   Capable of accurately identifying and building on the strengths of clients to better reach their potential.
     b)   Demonstrates a sound knowledge of resources and ability to make appropriate referrals.
     c)    Demonstrates a good understanding and use of clinical theory, interventions, treatment concepts, interference and resistance.
     d)    Able to produce quality documentation and Summary of Findings (SOF).

2) Communication/Collaboration
     a)    Demonstrates sound written and oral skills.
     b)    Able to work with inter- and intra-agency staff and utilize the clinical “team” concept.
     c)    Appropriately utilizes Supervisor for clinical and case management issues.
     d)    Able to work with community and referring agencies.

3) Integrity
     a)    Understands and is able to uphold legal and ethical standards as they pertain to mental health services.
     b)    Maintains strict confidentiality over all records and information related to clients.
     c)    Applies self to tasks and follow through without prompting.
     d)    Willing to accept a variety of cases.

4) Respect
     a)    Demonstrates respect for the intrinsic value of each person, their individual differences and culture.
     b)    Able to build rapport with clients and caregivers.
     c)    Ensures the safety of youths.

5) Accountability
     a)    Is rarely absent or late.
     b)    Able to meet and maintain productivity standards (as applicable).
     c)    Able to complete and submit documentation and paperwork within established timelines.
     d)    Attends and participates in meetings, group supervision, case presentations, and in-services training opportunities.
     e)    Able to solve problems independently with minimal supervisory direction.
     f)    Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid California license as a LCSW, MFT, PhD, or PsyD; or master’s degree and current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate MSW or MFT Intern.
Work experience in a comparable mental health setting.
Valid California Drivers License and a good driving record.

Bilingual Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese or Tagalog

APCTC is a private, non-profit, community based mental health clinic with over 30 years of service to the Asian Pacific Islander community in Los Angeles County. APCTC is a county-contracted agency under the auspices of Special Service for Groups.

APCTC has an immediate, full time position open for a bilingual Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese or Tagalog PSWI or MFTI at our SFV (15400 Sherman Way #220, Van Nuys 91406) location with experience working with children, TAY, teens, families and adults to work under outpatient, school-based mental health, FCCS and/or FSP programs.

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Program Manager and clinical supervisor, the PSW/MFTI has primary clinical responsibilities in providing individual, group and family counseling, intake assessment, crisis intervention and outreach and referral services. The PSW/MFTI will be working with adults who have moderate to severe mental illness and children and adolescents who have serious emotional and behavior problems and their families.

Duties will include, but not limited to, conducting individual, family and/or group counseling either in the office, field or schools. Candidate will provide crisis assessment and intervention and depending on program assignment, will need to provide 24-hours emergency psychiatric coverage for clients. The candidate will collaborate with hospitals, family members, law enforcement, school personnel and significant others and will facilitate access to needed resources for their client in the community. Candidates are required to maintain up-to-date DMH documentation.

Requirements: We are looking for candidates who have a strong interest and comfort level in working with adults and families and able to thrive in a fast paced, team focused environment. The ideal candidate must be willing to take initiative, be persistent and eager and willing to learn. Candidate must have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage Family Therapy or related field. The candidate must be bilingual in Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese or Tagalog and have experience working with people with mental illnesses. Proof of a California driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul Posting

Society of St. Vincent de Paul has an immediate opening for a Director of Social Services:
This position is responsible for the management, development, administration and implementation of all the Society's programs and services related to homelessness, social services, and housing programs. The incumbent will provide overall leadership for the Society and the Advisory Committee on all homelessness, social services, and housing issues.
Position Functions:
1.      Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Society's goals and objectives in regards to homelessness, housing, and social service issues.
1.      Ensures the department is operating efficiently and its programs and services are effectively meeting the needs of clients and the community.
1.      Recruits, trains, and supervises the department's senior administrative staff.
1.      Recommends, advises and administers the Society's and the department's policies, procedures, plans and objectives relating to the Center's programs and staff.
1.      Works with the Chairperson of the Center Advisory Committee and the Deputy Director on recruitment of new members and developing short and long term recommendations for the department.
1.      Teams with other Los Angeles Council Directors on issues relating to the department's finances, fund raising, communications, personnel and the Advisory Committee.
1.      Collaborates with officials from federal, state and local government, academic institutions and social service agencies on issues relating to homelessness, housing, and social services.
1.      With the support of the Deputy Director, prepares and manages the fiscal budgets for the Social 
Services Department.
1.      Supervises overall strategic plan of the entire Social Services Department.
1.      Directs Deputy Director, Residential Assistants, and Clinical Staff on HR issues related to hiring, termination and employee discipline. Works in coordination with the Deputy Director to develop bimonthly staff trainings and completes performance evaluations for managers and clerical staff.

Project Management
Manages the development, expansion, and enhancement of new and current client based programs
1.      Directs the development, expansion, and enhancement of homelessness, housing, and social service operation including: Emergency Transitions, Men's Advanced Program, Case Management, St. Vincent's Ventura Center and Winter Shelter, collaboration with other agencies, IT development, databases, and communication systems between residential/clinical staff. Responsible for development of client databases for all program clients.
1.      Develops and manages new programs to expand the services provided by the department.
1.      With input from the Director of Human Resources, conducts or delegates safety team meetings and emergency/disaster preparedness programs within the Social Services Department. In addition, assists the Human Resource Department in the Master Disaster Plan for the Society.
1.      Manages SVDP Housing development and off-site housing programs. Develops social services, housing plans, and budgets. Researches best practices in affordable and sheltered housing and maintains SVDP National Housing Directory.
1.      Manages various special projects and grants that arise. Works with the Development Department to seek funding via foundations, grants and individual donors.
1.      Manages or delegates volunteers and coordinates when volunteer or tour groups come to the shelter. Coordinates bi-annual volunteer appreciation events. Manages and expands Urban Plunge Program. Maintains the master calendar of student groups staying at the Center. Provide orientations and logistics to ensure groups have adequate food, and sleeping arrangements.
1.      Responsible for MSW Internship Program and Skid Row Seminar Series. Provide at least one hour of supervision per week for each student.
1.      Coordinate bi-weekly speakers for MSW Skid Row Seminar Series, which runs from September to May.
1.      Develop and evaluate existing social service, homeless, and housing programs to include computer learning center, movie social groups, and legal clinics.
1.      Represent the Society at various collaborative meetings
1.      11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred. Master's Degree in Social Work required. Ten or more years related work experience with at least five of those years in administrative, management or supervisory positions. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Thorough knowledge of homelessness, housing, and social service issues. Knowledge of individual and group counseling techniques and psycho-social development and resources.
Physical Requirements of the Job: Requires ability to sit at computer for long periods of time. Job position requires significant time sitting, some standing and some travel time between offices.
