Baby2Baby supplies families in need with essential baby gear and clothing for their children up to age 12. By distributing new and gently used items to over 50 non-profit organizations, Baby2Baby reaches over 67,000 children last year.

Job Description:

Baby2Baby is actively searching for a mission-driven, dynamic and experienced non-profit professional to oversee and manage operations, planning and programs, and drive the organization’s strategy. This role will work closely with the co-presidents, managing staff and strengthening the internal foundation of a fast-growing organization.

The Deputy Director will divide their time between coordinating services to partner agencies and the families they serve, and managing day-to-day operations in the organization.

About Baby2Baby: Baby2Baby collects and distributes essential baby gear and clothing to low-income children throughout Los Angeles. The organization has experienced a period of tremendous growth in the last 3 years under its co-presidents' leadership.

Primary Objectives:
• Identify critical, internal operations improvements with an eye toward future needs
• Oversee the development of a strategic data and metrics approach
• Oversee relations with partner agencies to ensure Baby2Baby is meeting community needs
• Manage staff to foster an entrepreneurial, professional, dynamic environment that encourages out-of-the-box thinking

Specific Responsibilities:
• Manage all administrative and operational functions of organization including finance, human resources, facilities, board relations and program logistics
• Work closely with the co-presidents to ensure the execution of the strategic plan; work on subsequent refreshes of the plan as needed
• Research, collect and analyze demographic data from current and new partner agencies; conduct site visits as needed to understand partner agencies communities
• Develop and oversee operational processes in the warehouse; work with office manager to ensure office and warehouse are running smoothly
• Develop an inventory and reporting approach which will enable expansion to additional partner agencies, collections from additional community drives and support marketing and communications efforts
• Partner with our special events and corporate relations staff to coordinate corporate donations or other activities with partner agencies
• Identify operational “pain points” and inefficient business processes; develop and implement recommendations
• Develop and manage annual budget in collaboration with co-presidents and Board of Directors; serve as liaison to audit firm
• Along with co-presidents, manage and oversee staff hires
• Coordinate relations with the Board, including meeting preparation
• Along with co-presidents, plan and create annual report

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of social service organizations with at least five years successful management or leadership experience in a non-profit organization. They are described as a self-starter with an enterprising attitude, are not easily overwhelmed and are able to work in fast-faced, entrepreneurial environment. In addition, the following are strongly desired:
• A commitment to and a passion for the mission, vision and values of Baby2Baby
• Demonstrated success in leading and managing staff in an entrepreneurial culture
• An ability to lead in an environment that requires effective collaboration
• Demonstrated success in prioritizing and managing multiple and sometimes competing tasks, satisfactorily meeting deadlines and achieving desired outcomes
• Proven track record of success in program/project implementation
• Experience with Donor Perfect a plus
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus
