LAMP Posting


As part of an interdisciplinary team, the Clinical Therapist will provide strong clinical leadership to ensure Lamp operates a high quality Wellness Center that is consumer driven and exceeds DMH and Medi-Cal standards for services. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest quality provision of direct individual and group therapeutic services while fostering teamwork among staff and across departments and programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Provide individual and group counseling services based on the needs of the Wellness Center members
  2. In collaboration with members and the Wellness Center team, evaluate needs of members and develop treatment/service plans accordingly
  3. Develop effective, trusting relationships with members, with a focus on facilitating independence, empowerment, and improved physical and mental health
  4. Serve as SFPR and coordinate clinical services with outside agencies
  5. Assist in providing clinical information and support to the Wellness Center treatment team
  6. Ensure that mental health services are reflective of Lamp Community’s model which emphasizes customer choice, harm reduction, and psycho-social rehabilitation
  7. Cooperatively and cohesively work with other members of the multidisciplinary team and Lamp departments, including active participation in department and agency staff meetings and trainings
8.     Complete Adult Initial Assessment, Annual Assessments, Intakes, Discharges, and Progress Notes on time and within industry, DMH, and Medi-Cal standards of practice without exception
9.     Meet productivity goal of a minimum of 65% of work time in direct service provision
10.   Adhere to National Association of Social Workers code of ethics

Reporting
1.     Develop and maintain complete, accurate, and current member records in electronic databases and member charts as required by funding sources and Medi-Cal standards
2.     Provide case updates as requested by supervisor and in Wellness Center team meetings
3.     Provide input and evaluation of programming as a participant of Lamp’s quality improvement program

REQUIREMENTS
1.     LCSW; or MSW or MFT with ASW registration with CA BBS (Supervision hours are available for this position)
2.     Minimum two years full-time post graduate experience working with those living with mental illness and/or substance addictions
3.     Minimum two years Medi-Cal documentation experience
4.     Outstanding clinical and strong team-building skills
5.     Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and database applications
6.     Detail oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills
7.     Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and with minimal supervision
8.     Current, valid California Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
9.     Able to obtain and maintain CPR/1st Aid certification
10.   Minimum 30 WPM typing speed

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  1. Field ( may need to travel) and indoor office environment
  2. Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments
  3. Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor
  4. May need to bend, stoop, twist , and sit throughout the day

POSITION:                            MENTAL HEALTH COORDINATOR
SALARY:                                $4,056.00 - $5,733.00 per month PLUS benefits
REPORTS TO:                       Director of Programs
WORK LOCATION:             Administration office and all Head Start/State Preschool & Early Head Start facilities

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

·               Must have a valid license in Psychology, Clinical Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapy.
·               Must have 5 – 10  years experience working with diverse populations
·               Must have 5 – 10 years experience working with children ages 0 – 5 years
·               Must have knowledge in parent, family and parent-child relationships’ Diagnosis and intervention; risk and Resiliency; Observation, screening and assessment; infant, toddler and preschool development and biological factors.
·               Must have 5 plus years of experience supervising

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct Supervision of the Director of Programs, the Mental Health Coordinator will assists all children participating in the program in emotional, cognitive and social development toward the overall goal of social competence in coordination with the education program and other related department activities. Provide the children/families with the necessary Mental Health Services included but not limited to:
·              Provide short-term counseling to parents and child(ren)
·              Work directly with preschool/Infant & toddler children in the classroom
·              Facilitate parent trainings on mental health issues
·              Provide prevention and early intervention, identification
·              Other duties as assigned

The Mental Health Coordinator will work in a cohesive environment with Plaza staff by:
·              Establish collaboration with Universities for internships
·              Establish Memorandums of understanding with local agencies
·              Conduct overall classroom mental health observations
·              Supervision of Mental Health Specialist to ensure all task under this individuals responsibility are completed
·              Management of Mental Health Services
·              Participate in Case Management, Multi-disciplinary team and additional meetings as needed
·              Submission of monthly reports to immediate supervisor
·              Provide weekly reports of services rendered to the Mental Health Coordinator
·              Projection of activities report via email to supervisor
·              Meet all deadlines as designated by the Grantee and/or Plaza
·              Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
·              Provide training and technical assistance to agency staff
·              Other duties as assigned
                       

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Medical Examination:                 Must submit a medical examination demonstrating capability to perform type of work required; must submit a tuberculin skin test or chest x-ray.

Eligibility to Work:                     All potential employees will be asked to present supporting documents establishing proof of identity and employment eligibility upon completing the I-9 form.

Fingerprints:                              All potential employees will be subject to fingerprints by the State and FBI clearance, and child abuse index check prior to starting work.

Special Requirement:                 Possession of a valid California driver’s license; access to automobile with adequate insurance coverage as required by law.

                                         clearance may result in withdrawal of job appointment.
