Downtown Women's Center Posting-LCSW


DWC seeks a full-time licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) to support the expansion and enhancement of DWC’s mental health services program. The LCSW will provide direct therapeutic services to women through one-on-one therapy and support groups and provide clinical oversight and supervision to staff and interns. The LCSW is a member of the Clinical Health Services team and will work in collaboration with other health professionals and report directly to the Clinical Program Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 Provide clinical therapeutic services to clients, including individual and group therapy and coordination of substance abuse and mental health treatment for participants with co-occurring disorders. Coordinate and collaborate with the health providers in the on-site clinic to improve health outcomes.
 Provide individual and group supervision of staff, interns, to Associate Clinical Social Workers, and volunteers who provide therapy, case management services, and facilitate support groups.
 Develop and maintain relationships with local universities that provide DWC with interns; assist with annual intern recruitment.
 Work to effectively meet client needs and resolve individual barriers through follow-up, advocacy and collaboration with DWC staff and community service providers. Participate in and/or facilitate team meetings.
 Monitor Individualized Service Plan progress in collaboration with Program teams.
 Maintain accurate and timely records of activities, case management notes, and services provided to each client.
 Provide crisis intervention and model de-escalation techniques as needed.
 Provide regular, written reports to the Clinical Program Manager and additional reports as assigned.
 Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization.

NECESSARY SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
 Master’s of Social Work degree preferred and current LCSW license in the State of California required
 Two years experience post licensure preferred
 Crisis intervention experience, and familiarity and comfort working with issues related to homelessness, substance abuse, mental health diagnosis, and history of trauma required
 Experience providing psychosocial assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, and/or supportive
counseling to individuals with complex mental health and medical issues required
 Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences
 Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
 Criminal background check and clearance required
 Experience working in the medical social work or community mental health field preferred
 Experience working in a residential setting with adults with severe mental illness preferred
 Clinical and administrative supervision experience preferred
 Oral and written fluency in Spanish and English a plus

SCHEDULE AND SALARY: This is an exempt, full-time position. Office hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
