PSWI/MFTI – SFV Office
Bilingual Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese or Tagalog

APCTC is a private, non-profit, community based mental health clinic with over 30 years of service to the Asian Pacific Islander community in Los Angeles County. APCTC is a county-contracted agency under the auspices of Special Service for Groups.

APCTC has an immediate, full time position open for a bilingual Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese or Tagalog PSWI or MFTI at our SFV (15400 Sherman Way #220, Van Nuys 91406) location with experience working with children, TAY, teens, families and adults to work under outpatient, school-based mental health, FCCS and/or FSP programs.

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Program Manager and clinical supervisor, the PSW/MFTI has primary clinical responsibilities in providing individual, group and family counseling, intake assessment, crisis intervention and outreach and referral services. The PSW/MFTI will be working with adults who have moderate to severe mental illness and children and adolescents who have serious emotional and behavior problems and their families.

Duties will include, but not limited to, conducting individual, family and/or group counseling either in the office, field or schools. Candidate will provide crisis assessment and intervention and depending on program assignment, will need to provide 24-hours emergency psychiatric coverage for clients. The candidate will collaborate with hospitals, family members, law enforcement, school personnel and significant others and will facilitate access to needed resources for their client in the community. Candidates are required to maintain up-to-date DMH documentation.

Requirements: We are looking for candidates who have a strong interest and comfort level in working with adults and families and able to thrive in a fast paced, team focused environment. The ideal candidate must be willing to take initiative, be persistent and eager and willing to learn. Candidate must have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage Family Therapy or related field. The candidate must be bilingual in Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese or Tagalog and have experience working with people with mental illnesses. Proof of a California driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.

Employment Specialist – CalWORKs Program
Bilingual Korean and/or Spanish

APCTC has an immediate, full time position open for a bilingual Korean and/or Spanish Employment Specialist at our Metro Center (605 W. Olympic Blvd. #550, Los Angeles, CA 90015) location. The Employment Specialist will be working with adults with varied levels of mental illness.

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Program Manager and/or Program Coordinator, the Employment Specialist will perform outreach employment preparation, development, placement and follow-along, and job coaching services to predominantly monolingual Korean and Spanish clients. The Employment Specialist will outreach through job fairs, career expos or other employment networks, develop and maintain a positive working relationship with employers, maintain and update database of employers. The Employment Specialist will maintain continuous contact and coordination with the treatment team to provide information on client progress in regards to mental and social stability and employment outcomes. The ES will also develop an individualized employment plan with the client, provide group counseling to teach job search and retention skills and also support the employer during the first few months of client’s employment.
