Bilingual Therapist – Adult and Children’s Outpatient Program
APCTC is a private, non-profit, community based mental health clinic with close to 30 years of service to the Asian Pacific Islander community in Los Angeles County. APCTC is a county-contracted agency under the auspices of Special Service for Groups.
APCTC has immediate, full time positions available for a bilingual therapist at a few of our Los Angeles county locations – Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley and Cerritos offices. The therapist will be working primarily with children and adolescents who have serious emotional and behavior problems and their families. Some adult cases with severe mental disorders will be assigned as well.
Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Program Manager and clinical supervisor, the PSW I/MFTI has primary clinical responsibilities in providing individual, group and family counseling, intake assessment, crisis intervention and outreach and referral services at both our clinic and school-sites (in LAUSD), occasional in-home assessments and services and close collaboration with relevant parties, such as school staff, DCFS workers, Probation officers, Regional Center workers, etc.
Requirements: the candidate must have a strong interest and comfort level in working with families/parents, are familiar with DSM-IV and able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. Candidate must have a valid registration with BBS and have a valid California driver license and reliable transportation. Proficiency in Spanish, Korean, Khmer, Vietnamese or Tagalog highly preferred. All other candidates ok to apply. Knowledge of LAC-DMH paperwork is a plus.
