SHIELDS for
Families is seeking applicants for therapist positions, inclusive of both Marriage
and Family Therapist and or candidates with a Master’s degree in Social Work (both
licensed or registered), who are ready for a challenge and wish to be part of
an innovative team of Clinical Staff. The therapist will provide crisis
intervention, intake assessment to individuals/families, as well as group therapy to adults, children and families with a
history of mental illness or substance abuse.
Therapists are assigned to provide services to clients in the
communities of South Central Los Angeles.
The role of the selected Therapist is to complete client psychosocial
assessments and provide diagnoses; formulate a plan of treatment to promote
maintaining individual goals designed to facilitate individual growth, improved
social interaction, and the ability to manage mental illness and/or substance
abuse and live independently. Depending
on the position, the therapist may have the opportunity to be trained in PEI
Evidence Based Practices, as well as other advanced clinical training.
The
successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a productivity
standard of 70% per month and a caseload of a minimum of twelve clients. Primary duties include providing a milieu of
services with individual, family therapy, and community based social rehab
activities, collateral contracts and case management services. The minimal requirement is a Master’s degree in MFT/MSW with internship
experience providing services to individuals with a history of mental illness
and/or substance abuse in a social services/mental health environment. The
salary range for this position is $48K - $55K, salary is commensurate with qualifications
and experience.

Families is seeking experienced Licensed Clinical Social Workers who are ready
for a challenge and wish to be part of an innovative team of Clinical Staff who
supervise therapists assigned to provide services to clients in the communities
of South Central Los Angeles. The role
of the selected clinician will be to supervise, mentor and motivate registered
master’s level interns in various programs, including, Substance Abuse, Mental
Health, and Reintegration of Adult Ex- Offenders. Depending on the position, the supervisor may
have the opportunity to be trained in PEI Evidence Based Practices, as well as
other advanced clinical training.
The
successful candidate will be responsible for conducting one on one and group
supervision, monitoring team member’s work and coordinating support services to
assist clients with independent living. Administrative and supervisory duties include
billing, Q.A. Reports, administering grants, review of clinical documentation, training
new staff and assisting with crisis intervention. A
Master’s degree in Social Work and a
minimum of two years post licensure with two to five years of hands-on
experience working with interns required. The salary range for this position is
$65K - $80K, salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
