Specific Education, Certification and Skill Requirements (if applicable):

•Bachelor’s degree required with a Masters in Public Health, Public Administration, Public Policy or related field preferred.
•Minimum 5 years proven success in program management, advocacy or policy related communications, ideally at a nonprofit organization or government agency.
•Understanding of public health aspects of poverty and homelessness, including mental health issues.
•Demonstrated project management success including, planning, organizing and responding to dynamic priorities


A Community of Friends is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Project Director of an innovative, multi-agency collaborative project that provides permanent supportive housing to homeless people living with mental illness or co-occurring disorders in two apartment buildings in South Los Angeles. The Project Director will lead and implement a service model that integrates housing with on-site primary care and behavioral health services as a vehicle for systems change. The position requires initiative and a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
