On October 7, 2008, President Bush signed the “Fostering Connections to Success” Act, H.R. 6893 (now P.L. 110-351), into law. This Act provides, for the first time, federal money that will enable states to extend support for young people in foster care to the age of 21. Similar legislation to implement this act in
The UCLA School of Public Affairs will present a forum featuring social welfare scholars and leading experts who will educate participants about the new federal legislation; increase awareness of the issues confronting emancipating and emancipated youth and encourage, stimulate, and inspire the development and implementation of realistic innovations in service delivery.
