Policy Analyst

CHC seeks a Policy Analyst for health research and analysis in the area of healthcare access and quality. The Policy Analyst is responsible for tracking county, state, and federal legislation pertinent to the elimination of health disparities in South Los Angeles; facilitating coalitions of community-based agencies and health experts; researching and writing policy reports, letters and updates; collecting and analyzing data; and representing coalitions as well as CHC at public hearings and meetings. The PA also organizes and convenes workgroups; meets and communicates effectively with decision makers, policymakers and the community; and effectively presents research and analysis to stakeholders. The position requires strong research/writing skills; ability to interact with all stakeholder levels; facilitation and speaking to groups. Experience in policy/advocacy or evaluation and comfort with public speaking preferred. Must have a Master's degree in Public Health/Policy, Urban Planning or related field or a Bachelor's plus 2 years policy or research experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access a must). A car, valid unrestricted California drivers' license, auto insurance and some travel also required.
