Lamp Community is a Los Angeles based nonprofit organization that permanently ends homelessness improves the health and builds self-sufficiency among homeless men and women living with severe mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
Therapist/Counselor
Full-time. MSW or MA.
Responsibilities: Provide individual and group counseling services to Lamp Community members; complete biopsychosocial assessments; Evaluate needs of members and develop care plans according to member needs and goals; Develop effective, trusting relationships with members- with a focus on facilitating independence and maintenance of improved physical and mental health; Document meetings with members according to DMH and MediCal standards ; Assist in providing clinical information and support to staff members in Lamp Community’s programs; Work cooperatively and cohesively with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including participation in weekly staff meetings and staff trainings; Help to ensure that mental health services reflective of Lamp Community’s model which emphasizes: customer choice, harm reduction and psycho-social rehabilitation.
Qualifications: MSW or LCSW or MFT. Supervision hours are available for this position. Minimum 2 years related post-graduate experience. Prior experience with working with persons who are homeless, have a mental illness and substance use issues preferred. Outstanding clinical skills. Strong team-building, inter-personal and organizational skills. Downtown Skid Row location. Highly competitive salary.
Clinical Consultant (LCSW or MFT)
(10 to 20 hours a week)
Responsibilities:
Assist in the oversite and delivery of training and support to interdisciplinary staff on issues relating to psychiatric symptomology, mental health treatment, medication support, documentation and Medi-Cal compliance.
Review staff members’ progress notes, care plans and assessments and provide appropriate feedback and assistance to them.
Assist in Quality Assurance reviews.
Provide clinical supervision to an MSW level therapists.
Work with Director of Programs to ensure that mental health services reflective of Lamp Community’s model which emphasizes: customer choice, harm reduction and psycho-social rehabilitation.
As needed, complete intakes with Lamp Community Wellness Center participants.
Downtown Skid Row location. Hours Flexible. Competitive salary.
Qualifications: LCSW or MFT. Min. 5 years related post-graduate experience, at least 2 of which are in a supervisory capacity. Extensive experience with mental illness and substance use population as well as DMH documentation. Outstanding clinical skills. Prior experience in community setting preferred. Strong team-building, inter-personal and organizational skills.
