Job Title:                Social Worker   

Reports To:       Deputy Director of Social Services and/or Director of Social Services    

Status/Salary Grade:       Exempt/40 hours

Department:       Social Services Department

Position Summary: This position Provides support to the participants of the Social Services Department including but not limited to the MAP and Family Housing. Emergency transition, groups, and program enhancement.  

Position Functions:
1.     Be an active and positive representative of Social Services department at all times.
  1. Be a leaders in problem solving, staff and program development with the guidance of the directors.  
  2. MAP and Women’s program, as assigned:
o   Assure that the population of the Programs is consistent with that of the Program’s missions and stated goals they are designed to serve.
o   In consultation with the Director and Deputy Director, and Social Services team, and program staff, revise the Programs goals as justified by research and program experience to better meet the needs of the skid row client population.
o   Assume case management responsibilities for men and women as assigned.
o   Assist with the recruitment of participants in Social Services Programs.
o   Assess and evaluate applicants for admission to Social Service Programs.  
o   Assure that all Program participants are assigned to – and attend - at least weekly case management sessions and appropriate group meetings at least bi-weekly.
o   Ensure that all assigned chores are completed as scheduled. 
o   Ensure that all clients (in the Men’s Program) are employed and saving in accordance with their Program Plans. Also, unless otherwise designed in the Program Plan, ensure that all men clients are enrolled in and attend an appropriate skills enhancement program.
o   Ensure that clients within the Women’s Program are seeking appropriate employment or schooling
o   Assure that all case recording is current and is completed and stored in accordance with Program standards.
o   Assure that clients unable or unwilling to follow their Program Plans are referred to more appropriate programs within the Program' guidelines of tolerance for non-compliance.
o   In concert with the Director, Deputy Director and other Social Service staff assume responsibility for regularly attending assigned community meetings.   Meetings will be assigned based on the department's needs.
4.     Assistance with and coordination of prioritization project with the Program Manager.
5.     On-duty service to drop-in clients including activities in the women’s drop-in center, as needed or assigned.
6.     Develop, oversee, and attend the weekly social work forums for Skid Row Interns
7.     Participation in weekly clinical supervision and staffing
8.     Community outreach and collaboration with other social service agencies.
9.     Program and community partnership development as available and assigned.
10.  Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work or a related degree; prefer experience with homeless adults, mental illness, or other related fields. Bilingual Spanish a plus
Physical Requirements of the Job: Requires ability to sit at computer for long periods of time. Job position requires significant time sitting, some standing and some travel time between offices. Varied shifts including evening and weekend may be required.

Position Summary: This position provides support to the participants of the Social Services Department including but not limited to the West Ventura Winter Warming Shelter, year round services in Ventura County, and support to Vincentian Services    

Position Functions:
1.     Be an active and positive representative of the Society at all times.
  1. Be a leader in problem solving, staff and program development with the guidance of the Director.  
  2. Winter Warming Shelter program, as assigned:
o   Assure the participants are connected to the service providers who attend the shelter as well as community supports in Ventura County
o   In consultation with the Director, and Social Services team, and program staff, revise the Programs goals as justified by research and program experience to better meet the needs of the Ventura community.
o   Assume case management responsibilities for men and women as assigned.
o   Assist with the recruitment of participants in future Social Services Programs.
o   Assess and evaluate applicants for admission to future Social Service Programs.  
o   Assure that all Program participants are assigned to – and attend - at least weekly case management sessions and appropriate group meetings at least bi-weekly.
o   Connect with and engage local service providers in an effort to assist clients.
o   Assure that all case recording is current and is completed and stored in accordance with Program standards.
